DRAMA

This course introduces students to the principles of acting through practical exercises and reflection. Students learn the basics of developing characters, acting and improvisation techniques, use of space, playwriting and analysis of texts. They discover the vocabulary and different occupations of the theatre world and develop their appreciation for theatrical works. The course emphasizes students’ independence, self-confidence, teamwork and imagination.

VISUAL ARTS

To encourage growing independence, students are invited to demonstrate their commitment and perseverance by defending their artistic choices. Their actions and choice of materials should reflect their desire to own and control the technical aspects of the discipline so as to represent, express and symbolize their vision of the world. Through creative projects and art appreciation, students explore traditional visual art techniques as well as digital technology tools.

MUSIC

This course focuses primarily on learning an instrument within a band. It also includes the use of various music composition procedures using Finale software. Students develop their music appreciation through listening and the use of appropriate vocabulary.
