Science and Technology

Teachers at Villa Maria use a rigorous and hands-on approach to make learning science a truly exhilarating experience. Our Secondary One (1) to Secondary Five (5) program include Science and Technology, Environmental Science, Physics and Chemistry.

We introduce students at all levels to topics encompassing the Living World, the Material World, the Technological World, and Earth and Space. In the process they acquire a real understanding of key scientific concepts that will serve them well in later years. Emphasis is also placed on the use of the scientific method to solve problems and the development of proficient use of laboratory materials and equipment.

The program in Secondary One (1) and Secondary Two (2) guides students as they learn the fundamental skills and concepts necessary to the design and implementation of experimental procedures. The topics and concepts covered in the Secondary Three (3) Science and Technology course, prepares students for the advanced concepts introduced in Secondary Four (4) and Five (5).

The following option courses complement the Villa Maria Science and Technology program:

  • Chemistry (Sec 5)
  • Environmental Science and Technology (Sec 4)
  • Physics (Sec 5)
