Message from the Director – Academic Support Services

The five years of high school represent the passage from adolescence toward adulthood and include many challenges, but these years are also a precious and exciting time in the students’ social and psychological development. As members of the school team, we are privileged to accompany them through this remarkable period of their lives. As a complement to teaching, Academic Support Services aim to contribute actively and positively to this development.

Like the educators, the non-teaching staff takes the success of our students to heart, not only in academics, but also in their social lives. Whether it’s through their student life, in extracurricular activities, trips, Academics+ activities or sports, our students are encouraged to live their school experience, to actively participate in their own development and growth. They are accompanied and guided by our engaged and dynamic Academic Support Services team: The multimedia centre, school organization office, lab technicians, supervisory team, activity and student life facilitators and sports technician.  All of them go above and beyond to offer our students the quality service that makes our school inspiring and dynamic.

Today’s students learn differently than previous generations did, and the competencies required in the working world are also changing. The school needs to stay abreast of this transformation and prepare students for new realities. Whether it’s the quality of teaching or support services, at Villa Maria, our goal is to always put student needs first.
