Student Awards

Villa Maria has established a number of ways to recognize and honour student achievement, community involvement, and contributions to school life. We do this to encourage involvement in the school community and beyond, to recognize student achievement in its many forms, and to foster and encourage a sense of community responsibility.

Honour Roll

The Villa Maria Honour Roll recognises outstanding, sustained academic achievement. Each term, students who maintain an overall average of 85% or better are named to the Honour Roll. This overall average is calculated using a weighted system based on the number of periods devoted to each subject. The list of students named to the Honour Roll is published at the end of each term and students will be recognized for their achievement in a special ceremony.

Villa Maria Medal

The Villa Maria Medal is awarded annually to the graduating student who best represents the sprit of Villa Maria qualities of effort, cooperation and participation, and respect and openness to others. The recipient of this medal is a well-rounded young lady who has demonstrated academic achievement, respect for others, and active participation in the life of the school over her 5 years at the Villa.

The Academic and Extra Curricular Plaque recognizes the same spirit of Villa Maria in students enrolled in Secondary I – IV.
