MECHTA Children’s Center
Since 2001, young children can be seen again in Villa Maria’s classrooms and music rooms.
They are students attending Mechta’s Children Center which was founded eight years ago by Mrs. Sitnikova, Mrs. Kononova and Mrs. Sidnjova. Students are between four and sixteen years old and they are mainly from the Russian community. The main goal of the center is to promote a harmonious integration of children and their families into Canadian society and to preserve the cultural and linguistic heritage of their country of origin.
Educational and cultural activities are offered to nearly 200 children on Saturdays, and on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
